Fast Review policy

The Indonesian Journal of Educational Management and Leadership (IJEMAL) provides a Fast Review service for authors who require a shorter review timeline. This service is intended to facilitate a more efficient editorial process while maintaining the journal’s commitment to rigorous academic standards and ethical publishing practices.

The Fast Review service prioritizes the editorial handling and peer review process of submitted manuscripts. However, it is important to note that this service does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript. All submissions, including those under the Fast Review scheme, undergo the same double-blind peer review process and must meet the journal’s quality standards.

Eligibility Criteria for Fast Review

Not all manuscripts are eligible for the Fast Review service. The final decision to grant Fast Review priority remains at the discretion of the Editor after the initial editorial screening.

Manuscripts may be considered for Fast Review if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to Journal Scope
The manuscript must fall within the scope of the journal and demonstrate a clear contribution to the field of educational management and leadership.

  2. Compliance with Author Guidelines
The manuscript must follow the journal’s formatting and submission requirements.

  3. Acceptable Similarity Index
The manuscript must pass the similarity check within the acceptable similarity threshold determined by the journal.

  4. Clear Research Design and Methodology
The manuscript should present a sound research design, clear methodology, and appropriate data analysis.

  5. Adequate Academic Language Quality
The manuscript should demonstrate sufficient language clarity to allow reviewers to focus on the scientific content.

  6. Editorial Approval
The Editor reserves the right to determine whether a manuscript qualifies for the Fast Review service.

If the manuscript is assessed as requiring major structural revisions, the Fast Review timeline may no longer apply and the manuscript may proceed under the regular review process.

Fast Review Process

Manuscripts submitted under the Fast Review policy will be processed according to the following timeline:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team will conduct an initial assessment within 1–3 days to evaluate the manuscript’s suitability with the journal’s scope and basic submission requirements.

  2. Peer Review Process
The manuscript will be sent to at least two independent reviewers under the double-blind review system. Reviewers will be requested to complete their evaluation within 7–14 days.

  3. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject) will normally be provided within 3–4 weeks from the initial submission.

  4. Revision Stage
If revisions are required, authors must revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ comments. However, if the manuscript requires major revisions, the Fast Review timeline may no longer apply and the manuscript may continue under the regular review process.

  5. Final Decision
After the revised manuscript is submitted and evaluated by the editor (and reviewers if necessary), the Editor will make the final decision regarding the manuscript’s acceptance or rejection.

Fast Review Timeline

For manuscripts approved for the Fast Review service, the journal aims to provide an editorial decision within approximately 3–5 weeks from the initial submission, depending on the responsiveness of reviewers and authors during the revision process.

Fast Review Service Fee

To support the accelerated editorial handling process, a Fast Review service fee of IDR 1,000,000 (one million Indonesian Rupiah) is applied for manuscripts processed under this service. The Fast Review fee will be invoiced together with the Article Processing Charge (APC) after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Authors are required to complete the payment after receiving the official acceptance notification and invoice from the editorial office.
