Abstract

The background of this study is rooted in the complexity of problems faced by university students, including academic difficulties, stress and anxiety, low learning motivation, adaptation and social relationship challenges, and the suboptimal internalization of Islamic values in academic life. These conditions necessitate the strengthening of Islamic guidance and counseling services that are managed systematically and professionally and oriented toward addressing students’ needs holistically. This study aims to analyze the integration of an Islamic education management model in strengthening Islamic guidance and counseling services in higher education. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The interviews focused on planning, organizing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and follow-up of Islamic guidance and counseling services. The research informants consisted of university leaders, counselors, lecturers, and students selected purposively. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the integration of an Islamic education management model into Islamic guidance and counseling services is implemented through planning, organizing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and follow-up stages. The integration of Islamic values, including amanah (trustworthiness), responsibility, musyawarah (consultation), justice, and ihsan (excellence), into service management contributes to strengthening services that are responsive to students’ academic, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. Therefore, the integration of an Islamic education management model can serve as a strategic framework for improving the quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of Islamic guidance and counseling services in higher education.
